Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

LedgerSprout is a desktop application developed and distributed by SuperDave Lab. For privacy questions, contact us at feedback@superdavelab.com.

2. What Data LedgerSprout Does NOT Collect

The application never transmits the following:

• The contents of your PDF bank statements or credit card statements
• Parsed transaction data, account numbers, balances, or amounts
• Exported CSV, XLSX, or JSON files
• Any file names, file paths, or metadata from your documents
• Your name, email address, or any personal information you enter into the review interface
• Notes, categories, or annotations you apply to transactions
• Usage data, analytics, or telemetry of any kind

3. What Network Requests the App Makes

LedgerSprout connects to the internet in exactly three situations, all of which are optional or on-demand:

• Update check (on startup and on demand) — The app fetches a small JSON file from our update server to compare version numbers. This request contains only the HTTP request headers your operating system sends automatically (IP address, User-Agent). No document data is included.
• Parser registry browse (on demand, when you open the registry browser) — The app fetches the public registry index JSON to show available parser packs. No local data is sent.
• Feedback / support request (explicit user action only) — If you choose to submit feedback via the in-app feedback link, you are directed to your email client. No data is submitted automatically.

These connections can be disabled entirely by configuring a firewall rule, and the app remains fully functional for parsing and exporting without any internet connection.

4. License Key Activation

If you purchase a Pro license, your license key is validated entirely offline using a cryptographic signature. The app does not contact any license server to activate or verify your key. Your name and email address (which you enter into the License dialog) are stored locally in ~/.config/ledgersprout/ and are never transmitted.

5. Data Stored Locally

LedgerSprout stores the following data on your local device only, in ~/.config/ledgersprout/:

• Your license key file (license.key), if activated
• App settings (settings.json), including registry URL preference
• Disabled parser list (disabled_parsers.json)
• Auto-saved session draft (autosave_session.json), containing your most recent parsed transactions, notes, and categories
• User-created parser packs and category rules, if any

None of this data is transmitted anywhere. You can delete it at any time by removing the ~/.config/ledgersprout/ directory.

6. Website Analytics

This website (ledgersprout.superdavelab.com) may use standard web server logs that include IP addresses and User-Agent strings. We do not use third-party analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or cookies beyond what your browser sends automatically with any HTTP request.

7. Payment Processing

Pro license purchases are handled by our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy). When you purchase, their privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information. SuperDave Lab receives only your name, email, and a license identifier — no payment card data.

8. Children's Privacy

LedgerSprout is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app does not collect personal data, most changes will be clarifications rather than material changes to data handling.
